The Price of Salt

The Price of Salt - Patricia Highsmith I am writing this review perhaps a year after I read this book. I remember how spare it was, how subtle, and how 'being the first lesbian novel to end happily' wasn't quite true, was it. The character, Carol, finds love but loses much as emotional payment. Still, the smile at the end between Terese and Carol made me happy.

What prompted me to write a review way too late, about one of my first lesbian "romances", is having just watched the film, "Carol" and whoa, I liked this film adaption very much, the casting alone is perfect with Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett.
